DESCRIPTION OF THE ORGANISATION

The HLPC is a law-based policy advocacy organisation working at three levels of advocacy. Firstly, advocacy efforts are directed towards legal and policy reform in health care and health system governance. Secondly, the HLPC seeks to use health rights protection as an innovative mechanism to promote basic rights, inclusion, and diversity in laws and policies affecting key populations. Thirdly, with a network of health law and policy experts.  The HLPC exist to promote rights and fundamental freedoms of marginalised groups including addressing determinants of health towards healthy populations and communities. It facilitates a rights-based policy formulation, implementation, monitoring and reform in the health system and health determinants and public health system. The HLPC seeks to work for the meaningful enjoyment of the right to health care (including reproductive health).

The HLPC is a health policy advocacy  organisation working with a  network of health law and policy experts - scientists, social scientists, medical practitioners, economists, legal practitioners, and public health experts working in and involved in the health care policy sector. The HLPC exist to facilitate a rights-based policy formulation, implementation and monitoring in Zimbabwe’s public health system. The HLPC seeks to work for the meaningful enjoyment of the right to health care (including reproductive health).
