GOAL:

To build a community of  advocates, policy makers and  health policy experts working towards promoting positive health outcomes, rights-based policy processes and the right to health.
OBJECTIVES

The HLPC focuses on four main objectives:

●  To promote universal health coverage and health rights in  policy processes through research and scholarship
●  To cultivate community participation in policy processes, and advocacy through capacity building towards
     resource monitoring, human rights promotion and ensuring good governance in the health system.
●  Promote and protect the right to health care (including reproductive health services) and fundamental
     freedoms in laws and policies impacting on access to health services for sex workers, LGBTIQ, drug users,
     prisoners, women and girls.
●  Protect human rights and fundamental freedoms in the management, governance, service delivery, financing
    and policy making processes of the health system.

ABOUT THE HLPC

The HLPC is a health policy advocacy  organisation working with a  network of health law and policy experts - scientists, social scientists, medical practitioners, economists, legal practitioners, and public health experts working in and involved in the health care policy sector. The HLPC exist to facilitate a rights-based policy formulation, implementation and monitoring in Zimbabwe’s public health system. The HLPC seeks to work for the meaningful enjoyment of the right to health care (including reproductive health).
